Maria
I worked as an Occupational Therapist from 2012-2023. In the last couple of years I have worked in project management roles for charities.
I currently work for a national charity for people with a neurological condition.
I very much enjoy working with people and getting to know them, hearing about their stories and interests.
Through BS3 I primarily focus on taking clients out and about (to places of interest, or appointments), doing tasks for them such as shopping, befriending or basic domestic support. I am able to support people with exercises prescribed by physiotherapists or to supervise them to do tasks as a way of maintaining their independence. I am open to assisting people to explore what brings them joy and how they can keep doing these things. I recently supported a lady in her 90s to connect with a friend over the internet so she can keep up her interest in poetry and local history through online conversations.
My background in Occupational Therapy means that I am able to risk assess situations and each persons abilities to make sure that people are safe with various activities of daily living.
Midweek, I can commit to a regular time and day to visit clients, but I am able to be flexible if needed with notice. I am open to weekends and evening visits. I am a driver and have access to a car.
Just ask if you have any questions.
