Syl
Hello, my name is Syl and my background is in social care with specialism in learning difficulties and mental health.
I have lived and worked at the Sheiling School Thornbury (An Independent specialist SEN school and children’s home for children and young people aged 6-19 for many years. I have fulfilled diverse roles in the care and education of children and have vast experience both professionally and personally as my stepson (aged 34) has a rare genetic condition with severe anxiety, behaviour difficulties and Autism. I feel that I have a very good understanding of living with trauma and mental illness due to lived experience within my family.
I can provide a wide range of services to significantly enhance the quality of life for those I work with. Good relationships are my priority and the key . I offer companionship and emotional support, pastoral care, administrative support, household management, and specialised support for any learning difficulties and mental health issues. I am IT savvy :)
