Monthly information and support sessions for prospective care professionals
We've been partnering with the Bristol Libraries Business & IP Centre (BIPC) over the last few months to provide information and support sessions for people who are thinking about venturing into self-employed care work, but that perhaps lack confidence or want to understand more about what being self-employed as a care professional means before they take the leap. To date we've helped 20 people to set up as self-employed, supporting them with everything from registering as a sole trader with HMRC, DBS checks, references, creating templates for their care contracts and business expenditure, identifying suitable public liability insurance, signposting to relevant care training, giving guidance on how to market and promote themselves and their individual services and much more!
In November we will also be working with the fantastic Bristol based charity The Women's Work Lab to provide a bespoke workshop for some of their recent programme graduates, who are mothers returning to work after long term absence and looking for more flexible work opportunities that encourage a better work/life balance.
If you or your organisation would like to work with us on supporting local people to consider moving into self-employed care work, please get in touch.
Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn to keep up to date with when our next information sessions will take place.
